move-talk-section is a userscript that automates the process of moving discussion sections from one page to another, leaving behind {{Discussion moved to}}, and optionally sending a notification to the section's author. This script runs on the Teahouse, Help desk, Reference desk, Village Pump, and all talk pages and noticeboards.

Installation

Automatic

Note: If there's no 'Install' button, make sure you have the script installer enabled in your preferences: Preferences → Gadgets → Advanced → Tick Install scripts without having to manually edit JavaScript files (documentation)

Manual

  1. Place {{subst:iusc|User:DVRTed/move-talk-section.js}} on your common.js file.

Usage

  • Click on the "[move section]" option, usually located next to the "edit section";
  • Type in the target page name and click Move.
