I am Craig Cressey, an independent historical researcher and citizen historian specializing in 19th-century Massachusetts state institutions.

I am the primary author and creator of the State Reform School in Westborough Wikipedia article, a project resulting from my extensive archival research. I also identified and documented the institution's lost cemetery, a dedicated ten-year project requiring the synthesis of over 2,000 pages of archival records. This work culminated in my submission of a formal Form E – Burial Ground inventory packet to the Massachusetts Historical Commission (MHC).

My research methodologies combine deep archival analysis of state annual reports and land deeds with modern technology, utilizing drone technology for historical site identification, land measurement, and landscape photography. My ongoing work focuses on documenting the broader history of the State Reform School for Boys.
