BRAD WINDERBAUM is a member of the Marvel Studios Parliament and an executive of production and development at Marvel Studios. He joined the Marvel Universe during filming of the company’s first blockbuster, “Iron Man,” and is currently an executive producer on Marvel Studios’ upcoming spy thriller “Black Widow” and the Disney+ Streaming show, "What If...?"
During his tenure with Marvel, he served as executive producer on the Taika Waititi-directed “Thor: Ragnarok,” starring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, and is attached to produce the follow-up, “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Winderbaum also co-produced “Ant-Man” starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, and spearheaded the Marvel One-shot program, serving as executive producer on several short films, including “Item 47,” “Agent Carter” and “All Hail the King.” He helped develop the studio’s growing continuity, exploring the interconnectivity throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Winderbaum also created behind-the-scenes documentaries and interactive campaigns for the films of Phase 1 and 2.
His career path to Marvel began in Rockland County, New York, where as a kid he was an artist and a fan of comic books and science fiction movies. Winderbaum’s eye for visual mediums was recognized at an early age when he won a contest in the ninth grade for designing his school district logo, which is still in use to this day. While earning a BFA in studio art from NYU, Winderbaum created large-scale drawings of elaborate parallel worlds and staged underground theatre productions. He went on to receive an MFA in film production from USC.
In 2007, Winderbaum became a pioneer in the online space by creating a forum for interactive dramas called “itsallinyourhands,” in which the choices of the characters were decided by the viewing audience. He wrote and directed the sci-fi thriller “Satacracy 88,” which received an Emmy® Award for outstanding broadband drama and a Webby People’s Choice Award for best film and video dramatic series. The second season earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for outstanding new approaches – daytime entertainment.
