I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and went to the University of Kentucky from which I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. In 2005 I received a Master of Business Administration degree from Michigan State University, and I now live in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Much of my work in Wikipedia has been related to bluegrass music, which I grew up listening to. Going forward, I plan to continue work on bluegrass music related articles, including the main article, subgenres, and musicians. If you would like to discuss bluegrass or any other article/topic to which I've contributed (or something completely off-topic like the weather, which for me is particularly nasty at the moment) just leave a note on my talk page; I check it regularly. If you are also working on bluegrass music related articles, you are welcome to make full use of my to-do list below.

Current projects

As of 2011-09-07, I'm working on the following articles:

I am currently most involved in the following WikiProjects:

  • WikiProject College Football
  • WikiProject College Basketball
  • WikiProject Michigan

On WikiProject Reenactment I'm mostly doing maintenance and reverting vandalism. I'm currently taking a break from WP:DYK.

Key edits

Most active day:

  • January 20, 2006. By the end of the day I had made 84 edits. I think I am going to take it easy for a few days! Check out the work I did on Paul Laurence Dunbar High School! ([1])
  • (Honorable mention) July 1, 2011. 158 edits in Commons (almost all minor, using HotCat -- that's why it's only "honorable mention"!), and 11 more (non-minor) in English Wikipedia. cmadler (talk) 18:15, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Fun with Wikipedia

Note

Please note that the term "cmadler" (regardless of case) is my mark, to which I grant Wikipedia and all other Wikimedia projects unreserved rights, on the conditions that the term may only be used in reference to me or my contributions. I have been using this invented name since 1996, and to my knowledge I am the first creator of this word. A Google search on the term yields approximately 50 distinct hits (over 280 in total), all of which refer to me.

Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet

It is generally difficult to judge the worthiness of a particular topic for inclusion in an encyclopedia considering that there is no certain way to know what interests people, but some topics nevertheless are not fit for an encyclopedia.

This motto reflects the desire of these Wikipedians to be reluctant, but not entirely unwilling, to remove articles from Wikipedia.
