Windows CE or Android

Regarding this edit:

I assume the original prototype was actually running on Android, but I don't have access to the source cited (the journal of Transport Ticket Society) to check. It's certainly true that, after the prototype stage, they used Windows CE – but the only source I can find is this PDF on the ITSO website – until many years later (2023) Ticketer introduced its new machine based on an Android tablet. I have all editions of the TTS Journal. I'll have a look for updated info: there has certainly been a great deal published about Ticketer in it in recent years. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 19:47, 21 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've been through all editions of the TTS Journal since 2017. It is absolutely certain that Android was used specifically for the prototype, but there is no definitive information about the operating system for the production models – although use of Windows is alluded to. I have no reason to doubt that Windows CE is used, so I have added it with a "citation needed" tag until we find a reference. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 20:19, 21 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
