Talk:NetTutor

Untitled

I am the initial author of this entry. My qualifications to discuss the operation, role and various aspects of using an online tutoring service, and NetTutor in particular, include:

  • I have been a professional tutor, both face-to-face and online, since 1996
  • I am an adjunct professor of mathematics at a major public university
  • I tutored and managed NetTutorLink-Systems from 2003 to 2010
  • I am co-author of research into the effectiveness of online tutoring

I have a COI in writing this, since I am currently Director of Academic Research at LSI, the company which owns NetTutor. For this reason, I have have supplied and will continue to maintain NPOV on this as I have on other topics in Wikipedia.

A growing portion of the tools used in education are supplied by private vendors, lending this and many other articles their Notability. At the same time, it is unlikely that anyone without any association to the products will have sufficient expertise to provide encyclopedic insight, and therefore, Accuracy to the articles.

Anyone with a question about this, or about the accuracy of anything in the article is, of course, free to amend it. I would appreciate it, as a matter of courtesy, that you would comment first on this talk page. In particular, I would be happy to discuss the COI issue.
