Unclear claim

The first sentence in the Branding section reads "Mastercard is associated with security and is believed to be reliable in emergencies. Antitrust litigation over the years has damaged the brand." It is not clear who believes this - and the reference link is broken. Davidelit (Talk) 04:53, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

pointless information on card tiers

There are numerous tiers listed (10 for credit, 8 for debit) without any explantion of the significance of these tiers. Some further explantion is needed, assuming there is some differentiation that applies across all issuers. As it is now, this is just noise taking up space. Request: Update financials in infobox

Hi editors, I am here to request updates to this article on behalf of Mastercard via Ketchum through my work at Beutler Ink. Last week, Mastercard released its 2025 financials. I was hoping editors would consider updating the infobox with the following:

  • operating income: Increase $18.9 billion (2025)[1]: 3
  • net income: Increase $15 billion (2025)[1]: 3

Potential WP:WEIGHT issue

Hi editors, I am here to request an update on behalf of Mastercard via Ketchum through my work at Beutler Ink. In July 2025, an editor added to the History section a 180-word subsection on biometric metal cards. The references cited do not include links or names of the publications, but from a Google search it appears most of the content is cited to press releases published on various websites. I'm just not sure I understand the relevance of the focus on the biometric metal card, nor the weight it is given to the article. The content is also a bit unclear, as Mastercard released biometric cards well before 2025. I have prepared potential replacement copy citing PYMNTS, and two articles from Biometric Update ( 1, 2) that cuts out superfluous information. Admittedly, these are not the most well-known sources, but they seem better than press releases. Posting here for editors to consider and implement if you think this is an improvement in terms of WP:WEIGHT and neutral point of view.

In 2017, Mastercard introduced a program using biometric cards where a fingerprint sensor is embedded with the payment card's secure chip, enabling cardholder authentication directly on the card.[1] By 2025, Mastercard had extended its program to cards used by Eastern Bank in Bangladesh and Jordan Kuwait Bank in the Middle East.[2][3]

Request: Update Corporate affairs

Hi editors, I am here to request an update on behalf of Mastercard via Ketchum through my work at Beutler Ink. For this request, I am looking to update the Corporate affairs section. The section in the live article is quite outdated and includes two long lists mostly of figures without their own Wikipedia articles. Such lists are quite detailed and can be difficult to maintain on Wikipedia over time, so I suggest a Corporate affairs section that hits on the main overview of the company and its top leadership. Here are my suggested edits:

Thanks, Danilo Two (talk) 18:58, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done I removed the long lists and implemented some of the requested changes. I did not add the material about appearing on awards lists, as that may be considered promotional. ◦ Sibshops (talk) 19:19, 19 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Sibshops: Understood. Thanks so much! Danilo Two (talk) 17:51, 20 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
