shouldn't redirect to "Linear transformation", links to this are about Del and derivatives. -- Tarquin 18:25 Jan 22, 2003 (UTC)

Maybe we should explain on Linear transformation how the terms are used: linear map when talking abstractly, linear transformation often in geometric applications, and linear operator when the space consists of functions. I don't think it makes sense to explain the concept of linearity in more than one article though, it's really the same thing in all three settings. AxelBoldt 03:03 Jan 23, 2003 (UTC)
