Missing countries
Equatorial Guinea, Vanuatu, among several others, are missing which are included in the 2019 report.

Score number color
Consider making the scores of countries below 30/100 white instead of black, similar to how the Democracy Index does that when the background color is dark. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 15:49, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- This should also apply to scores of 8/10 or higher (and below 3/10) on pre-2011 scores. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 23:45, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I finished applying the white score colors for 80≤ and ≤30 on the List of Countries by Corruption Perceptions Index after heavily simplifying the tables to make the article easier to load and edit (also simplifying the edit process for scores) Cnscrptr (talk) 17:14, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
Map color scheme for the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index
The 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index is releasing on 10 Feb 2026. Last year, there were disagreements between @TheRichCapitalist and I regarding the color scheme, which concluded after I said that we should wait until next year since the map had already been adopted by various Wikipedia versions.
Now that the new Corruption Perceptions Index is coming out, I would like to hear your suggestions for improving the color scheme both on the map and the article. Any ideas? Cnscrptr (talk) 01:24, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'd still prefer the 16:46, 3 March 2025 color scheme. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 20:33, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- Personally, I have a few gripes with it.
- 1. The color scheme you used is too similar to that of the Democracy Index, which has a different context.
- 2. The colors are important to me due to the meaning they convey. For example, 60-69 being yellow shows that there is a considerable amount of corruption, with you having it as light blue making it seem like a more acceptable range. More striking is the light orange you used for 40-49, which is classified by Transparency International as "Countries seen as more corrupt"; light orange makes, in essence, light of this range (pun intended).
- However, I am thinking about a similar color scheme to make it easier on the eyes. Cnscrptr (talk) 03:35, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- I came up with this color scheme
| Scores | Perceived as less corrupt | Perceived as more corrupt | ||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| since 2012 | 100–90 | 89–80 | 79–70 | 69–60 | 59–50 | 49–40 | 39–30 | 29–20 | 19–10 | 9–0 |
- Cnscrptr (talk) 04:25, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- @TheRichCapitalist What do you think? Cnscrptr (talk) 18:57, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'd still prefer the March 3 one, at least the light blue for 60-69.
- Everyday bribery is rare in countries with scores above 60, so I wouldn't consider it a "considerable amount of corruption." TheRichCapitalist (talk) 22:42, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- 10-19 is a bit too dark, barely distinguishable from 0-9. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 07:07, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- We could tackle that later. After all, the map has been made just recently so there's still room for improvement I'd say. Cnscrptr (talk) 07:34, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- I genuinely like the yellow for the 60-69 range to be honest.
- The 60-69 range is still not highly clean like the 70≤ ranges, being 31 to 40 points below 100. Not to mention the United States, a country that ranks in the 60-69 range, already has faced several scandals regarding corruption.
- However, I will show what the table would look like with a light blue color instead of yellow.

- Maybe a slightly lighter yellow as well. Let's go with this.
- Also, scores typically lag a year behind reality. For example, the US's score didn't decline in Trump's first term until 2018. Following the end of his current term, once it registers (the 2029 report), it will likely be below 60. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 23:48, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- That's your color scheme all over again, not mine. Cnscrptr (talk) 03:05, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- I made slight changes from the March 3 version. I'm not sure what Zinnober9 did, but his or her edit disabled the color display in my previous reply for some reason. TheRichCapitalist (talk) 03:43, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- I know. I saw it. Personally, I don't like the 3 March color scheme, but maybe there's a compromise we could make. Cnscrptr (talk) 03:55, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- Not to mention the 20-29 range in your color scheme fails the Web Content Accessibility AAA guidelines Cnscrptr (talk) 03:58, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

indices are not collapsed by default?
Can I ask why? It is very long and cumbersome, allowing collapse would make it easier to navigate the rest of the page. Jag1762010 (talk) 08:42, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
