Article issues
- As of this time the article suffers from the following problems:
- 1. Notability: Notability requires verifiable evidence and I do not see any in this article. To me, consumerization is nothing new: It is just a new marketing term invented to describe what we have been doing in corporate networks and simply called it "business IT". (Do terms like home office, virtual private network, DMZ, directory service, group policy and Windows domain not predate consumerization?) Given that fact, is this article in complete compliance with WP:NEOLOGISM?
- 2. Verifiability is in critical condition: As I read the article I constantly come across the sentences that I ask myself "who says that?" but cannot find the answer because this article sources do not tell me. This is a direct violation of Wikipedia:Verifiability. This article requires footnotes and references written in standard referencing style.
- 3. It is written like an essay or blog post and therefore requires the attention of an expert: It does not look like a Wikipedia article at all. Rather, it is like a technical essay written for a target audience that have certain requirements; though I still cannot tell what requirements. To tell the truth even I sometimes lose track of what article is talking about due to lack of context – this suggest that I am not exactly the target audience. Therefore, an expert needs to help re-write and wikify this article. The article should reach a stage that makes sense to ordinary people.
- 4. Lead section needs to be re-written: Please study MOS:LEAD. Lead section must be a summary of the whole article and must suffice those who seek to know what the article is roughly about. This article's lead won't do that.
- 5. Copyright compliance: I am not convinced that those images are free.

- Thanks for your comments. Lots has happened with the consumerization of IT in the years since it was first recognized. One of the most notable instances is the publishing of a 14 page insert in the Economist magazine in October of 2011. See http://www.economist.com/node/21531112 and the associated debate. See http://economist.com/debate/days/view/775 Conferences are now sprouting up as orgnizations deal with employees empowered with consumter technologies such as the iPad. See http://www.citeconference.com/ehome/index.php?eventid=29527&
- I agree that we need to update and re-write the article and will do so in the coming days.
