Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. —Bagumba (talk) 16:29, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Should the CS article be bumped up to Level 2 in vitality?
The computer science article is one of the most important, if not the most important article relating to computer science - since it literally is about computer science. I think it should be bumped up to atleast Level 2 for now since there is still some things we have to include into the article such as references. Vivaidris (talk) 19:58, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Late reply - Agreed that it should be Level 2 vital, but on inspection, I'm not actually sure how to do that. I checked the diff with Talk:Computer, which is Level 2 vital. AFAICT the talk source code seems similar, both have :WikiProject banner shell|class=B|vital=yes|1=, maybe there is some other way to bump things to Level 2/1? - Looks like there is some information about this here. Caleb Stanford (talk) 03:47, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
- OK so on looking into this further - I'm actually not convinced this should be Level 2 vital. Level 3 is already quite high up in the food chain, so to speak. If you check Level 2, in order to propose, one also needs to bump down one of the existing articles. Currently, assuming we bump down something from technology (any other category is a bit dubious), this means we would have to bump down one of: Computer, Engineering, Tool, or Transport.
- That seems fairly absurd for any of those 4. The only one for which there is sort of an argument is Computer, but for that, it's not clear why Computer Science is more important than Computer, or which is more foundational between the two.
- Seems like Level 3 is correct. Caleb Stanford (talk) 04:00, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

CSE
Some schools now have a CSE, or Computer Science and Engineering department, confusing, or somewhere between, computer science and computer engineering, with the latter close to EE. (Often nearby physically as well as logically.) Should the article mention, or link to, something to say about this? Gah4 (talk) 06:02, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
- Looks like computer science engineering currently redirects to computer science, so indeed, this merits mentioning. The hard part is how to mention it. Probably, the article should have a small section like "degree programs" or similar and mention different degrees that are related that exist, via reliable sourcing.
