Add section about ChromeOS Flex

The article mentions ChromeOS Flex once:

ChromeOS Flex—a distribution of ChromeOS that can be installed on conventional PC hardware to replace other operating systems such as Windows and macOS. It is similar to CloudReady, a distribution of ChromiumOS whose developers were acquired by Google in 2020.Source

I think it might be a good idea to add a section about ChromeOS Flex and the differences to ChromeOS. Currently, the differences are not clear and writing that ChromeOS Flex is supposed to be an alternative to Windows and macOS is misleading to end users. les.cx (talk) 19:07, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also probably need to add it to the articles "List of operating systems" and "Comparison of operating systems". 12think (talk) 05:18, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Comment: I started a separate article on this topic, ChromeOS Flex. Justjourney (talk | contribs) 01:59, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Add section on the "Everything" key

If someone would create a section about the "Everything" key, it could be added to Template:Keyboard keys.

For your comfort and convenience, here are the old and new icons: U+01F50E 🔎 RIGHT-POINTING MAGNIFYING GLASS and U+25C9 FISHEYE. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 19:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Merge

Can't see a strong case for why ChromeOS Flex should be separate, it's just a minor different edition of ChromeOS. I propose it to be merged to here. --~2025-40302-78 (talk) 01:50, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Support, this can all be covered in one place. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 18:05, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Support. If the ChromeOD Flex section got too big, it could have a "main article" link. It's hard to picture that happening. TypoBoy (talk) 18:45, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
based on it's development history, I think merging most of it in the ChromiumOS article makes more sense. The ChromeOS article could cover it in one paragraph and then link to the subsection on that article. Anything more detailed in this article would probably get cut down eventually due to scope. — jonas (talk) 09:41, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is it worth the effort at this stage? Will ChromiumOS continue to exist after AluminiumOS hits the streets in a few months time? Will ChromeOS Flex continue to exis? 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 20:42, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Thebiguglyalien @TypoBoy Which do y'all think the better target is here? FaviFake (talk) 21:56, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I tossed a coin and it landed on head so I merged it into the initial target. Feel free to move it anywhere! FaviFake (talk) 16:19, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

ChromeOS Flex section location

Shouldn't the ChromeOS Flex location be under the Software section, not Hardware? ~2026-23899-90 (talk) 17:38, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
