Talk:Cell casting

Cast PMMA is easier to machine then it's extruded version. Extruded PMMA also drips when burned, whereas cast PMMA will bubble and vaporize but no dripping will occur. Therefore, PMMA cell casting will not be replaced by extrusion methods. --Mike134 10:12AM June 30, 2010

I just wikified this article -- and then found that it may be inaccurate! Apparently it is actually the best method for producing PMMA sheets. (See PMMA) I'll check some references. Urgh... --Kryssolis (talk) 02:55, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Are commercial references acceptable? I'm the one who added the note about cell casting not being outdated as stretched, cell cast material is stronger. This is first hand knowledge from manufacturing the stuff. It's how aerospace plastics are still made, but the only references I have handy are from company websites like Spartech and Piedmont Plastics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8801:1298:8800:35D2:80C6:4865:5140 (talk) 22:31, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
