RE: SD Embedded Audio does not seem to be split across the Y and Cb/Cr Channel
I'm just looking for confirmation before editing this page - in the section on Embedded Audio, it claims that "In either case the embedded audio data packets are carried in the HANC space of Cb/Cr (chroma) parallel data stream. In addition, both standards define audio control packets. The audio control packets are carried in the HANC space of the Y (luminance) parallel data steam...", however when testing a de-embedder I noticed that under HD that is true (embedded audio packets are in the HANC space of Cb/Cr, audio control packets are in the HANC space of Y), but under the SD case, the data is split across both channels, requiring a re-interleaver to properly see the data. Can anyone else confirm this, I don't want to change the description based on our only test signal source here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.167.74.139 (talk) 19:39, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
"external links"...
... aren't, & in fact I'd be surprised if they were, since viewing SMPTE documents usually requires membership.

VPID?
The page mentions VPID without providing either a definition or a link. Waah! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.206.120.10 (talk) 19:54, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Helpful Page Of SMPTE docs that are avalible on IA (Internet Archive)
As Im writing a master processing book alongside an near insanity level guide for handling every flavor of digital and analouge timecode (for the VHS-Decode project and relating sub docs for digital tape formats) I thought I would put this list here for sake of helping expand acsessability to this subject, and if I find the time I will flush out this wiki page more personally.
