Object Z is a six-part British television science fiction series made by Rediffusion, first transmitted by ITV in 1965.[1]
Plot
A mysterious object is found to be approaching Earth by Prof Ramsay. Its impact could destroy life on Earth, causing panic. TV producer Barry and his assistant Winters become involved in events. It is eventually revealed to be a hoax, designed to unite humanity.[2]

The series was produced and directed by Daphne Shadwell.[3]
Sequel
A 6-episode sequel, Object Z Returns, was broadcast in 1966, but the episodes were subsequently wiped from the archives.[3][4]

The entire series one was released on Region 2 DVD and Blu-ray in 2025.
