I am a backend developer for TriTriSim. I am not paid to edit Wikipedia, but I have a conflict of interest with this topic. I am submitting this draft through Articles for Creation for independent review.
TriTriSim
TriTriSim is a flight simulation add-on developer of visual effects and general add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 and MSFS 2024. The developer, right now, produces both a free emergency-effects pack (TFX[1][2]) and a commercial atmospheric/effects package (TriTriSim GFX) [Not released yet]. The company promotes physics-based, low-performance-cost visual effects intended to increase immersion while minimizing framerate impact.
Products
TriTriSim TFX
This freeware add-on package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 adds a new layer of realism to dramatic situations such as engine fires, emergency water landings, crashes, and gear-up landings[3]. It responds to these events with dynamic visual effects including flames, smoke trails, water splashes, crash animations, and sparks[3]. As showcased by several content creators, the animations are environment-aware, and if supported by the aircraft, they integrate with their failure systems.[3]
TriTriSim GFX
TriTriSim GFX is a premium atmosphere/effects package intended to provide a complete atmospheric overhaul for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024[4]. The product is described on the developer’s site as “high-fidelity effects without the FPS hit” and is listed at a price of $14.99 (promotional pricing visible on the product page). TriTriSim’s GFX page lists several completed effects (wing condensation, thrust-on-rain, water ingestion, engine effects, vortices, and water trails), items currently in progress (engine fin condensation, enhanced contrails), and describes a community-driven voting channel for prioritizing future development.
Development and distribution
TriTriSim distributes its add-ons through its official website and maintains community channels (including an active Discord) for testing, feedback and votes on future development priorities. The developer has both freeware and paid offerings and has engaged with the MSFS community via release notes, open beta testing, and posts/shared media on community hubs and mod repositories. Independent flight-sim media covered the rollout of TriTriSim’s TFX emergency pack and early screenshots and videos from the developer.
Reception
Community reaction (forums, Reddit and flight-sim news outlets) to TriTriSim’s initial releases has focused on the novelty of adding visible emergency effects to MSFS and the value of a low-cost premium atmospherics package compared with other commercial options. Several flight-sim news sites and community forums published previews, release notes and download links following the TFX open-beta release.
