Phillip Hodge (born May 12, 1984),[1] professionally known as Thuggizzle, is an American rapper, philanthropist, and entrepreneur from San Antonio, Texas.[2] He is known for his freestyle-based hip-hop style and for combining music with community advocacy. He is also the founder of the bottled-water brand Thuggizzle Appalachian Mountain Spring Water and the nonprofit organization Thuggizzle Cares Inc.[3]
Early life
Hodge was born in San Antonio, Texas, and spent part of his childhood in foster care.[2] He has spoken publicly about how his early experiences influenced his focus on youth empowerment, literacy, and community outreach programs in later years.[4]
Career
Thuggizzle began his music career in San Antonio, gaining local recognition through freestyle performances and community-based events.[5] His work later received regional media attention, including appearances and coverage on KENS 5, KSAT, and News4 San Antonio, where his music and philanthropic efforts were highlighted.
In addition to music, Hodge expanded into entrepreneurship with the launch of Thuggizzle Appalachian Mountain Spring Water,[3] a bottled-water brand distributed in parts of Texas. The venture has been featured in business and local news reporting, including coverage by the San Antonio Express-News.
