The company was incorporated on 12 March 2009 as Clicca Qui Ltd, and renamed The SEO Works Ltd on 12 September 2013.[1]

History

In 2021, the agency relocated to 8,600 sq ft of purpose-built office space at the Fountain Precinct, Balm Green, Sheffield, following a reported investment of £250,000 in the fit-out.[2][3] The same year, the company launched a digital marketing apprentice academy in partnership with The Source Academy.[4]

In June 2025, The SEO Works transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), with the transaction financed by Shawbrook Bank and advised by Brabners LLP. Founding directors Neil Palmer and Simon Margetts stepped back upon completion.[5][6][7][8]
