Shane Thomas Appell (born December 12, 2002) is an American singer, best known as a member of Pop rock band Midnight 'Til Morning.[1].
Early Life
Appell was born and raised in New York[2][3].
Appell, his older brother, Dean, and younger brother, Travis, were members of the Putnam Valley High School wrestling team[4][5][6][7].
Career
Solo Career
After graduating high school, Appell released several singles[3] and performed on The Today Show Morning Stage for the Famous Food Festival, Wonderama stage in Times Square, New York Fashion Week, and New York Swim Week – as well as in several NYC establishments[8]
Building The Band
In 2024, Appell was one of 50 singers in Netflix's music reality Building The Band[9][10]. The show was filmed in Manchester[11], England between July and August 2024. It aired the following year, on July 2025[12].
Appell formed the band Midnight 'Til Morning, with three other contestants: fellow American Zach Newbould[13], and Australians Conor Smith[14] and Mason Watts[15].
Midnight 'Til Morning
In September 2024 the band was signed by Australian label Chugg.[16]
On August 5, 2025, Midnight 'Til Morning released their first sungke, "Bye", and another song, "Ghost Of Us".[17][18] On September 10, they released two more songs: the single "Navy Eyes" and "Welcome to LA"[19]. On October 7, they released a fifth song, "Heart on Fire". The following day, the band released its first EP, "Afterglow".
On October 9, 2025, Midnight 'Til Morning went on a US, Canda and Australia tour[20]. In January and February 2026, the band toured the UK and Europe[21].
Further tours are schedules for March till May in the US, Latin America, the UK and Europe.
Personal Life
Appell is dating Wennely Quezeda[22], a member of the girl band 3Quency[23], who won Building The Band[24]
His voice is notable for its range and versatility, especially his ability to hit high notes.
At age 6, Appell started playing drums. He later started playing piano and guitar.[3]
In late 2024, following an ATL rollover accident, Appell sustained a collarbone injury. Despite this, he remains athletically gifted, as demonstrated by his signature backflips, sideflips and hand stands during shows.
Appell has severe ADHD. While it negatively affected his academic achievements, he credits his condition with a significant contribution to his creativity as an artist.
