STRETCHIT
STRETCHIT is a mobile application for stretching, flexibility, and mobility training, developed by the American company STRETCHIT, Inc. The app was launched in 2016 by sisters and co-founders Natasha Nikolaeva and Marina Skladchikova, with the goal of helping users improve their flexibility, mobility, and overall quality of movement through structured workout programs.[1][2]
Overview
STRETCHIT provides a library of stretching video classes for users of all fitness levels, from beginners to experienced athletes, dancers, and gymnasts.[3] Classes incorporate techniques from yoga, pilates, rhythmic gymnastics, bodyweight training, and dance.[4] The application is available on iOS, Android, and via a desktop web version.[5] The app includes goal-setting, progress tracking, and reminder notifications to encourage regular practice.[5] According to the company, its membership exceeded 370,000 users as of 2021.[4] STRETCHIT has been featured in theSkim, SELF, and Business Insider, and has been referenced in The Washington Post and Refinery29, among other publications.[3][6][1][2][4]
Features
Classes and Programs
Users can either browse and select classes manually or complete a short in-app quiz, after which STRETCHIT provides personalized recommendations.[7] Classes can be filtered by goal, duration, and difficulty level. Available goals include front splits, backbends, back pain relief, and general full-body flexibility.[3] Structured programs range in length from 14 to 90 days.[8][7]
Personalized Program
Upon first opening the app, users are prompted to complete a short quiz covering their current fitness level, primary flexibility goal, and preferred class duration. Based on these responses, STRETCHIT generates a personalized program tailored to the user's needs.[7] Users may also input specific flexibility goals — such as reducing back pain, achieving splits, or improving general mobility — and the app will create a structured program accordingly.[6]
Progress Tracking
The app logs user statistics, including completed hours and calories burned. Users may also upload progress photos within the app. Users can schedule individual classes in advance and receive reminder notifications at the chosen time.[5]
Instructors
Classes are led by professional instructors who provide form cues and modification options throughout each session. Multiple camera angles are used during filming to clearly demonstrate correct body positioning.[8]
