Royal Arch Gunnison (1873–1918) was an American lawyer who served as a justice of the Alaska Territorial Supreme Court from 1904 to 1909.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 3.—The President has appointed Royal A. Gunnison of Binghamton, N. Y. to be United States Judge for the First Division of Alaska, vice Melville C. Brown, whose term has expired. Mr. Gunnison was graduated from the Law School of the Cornell University in 1806, and since that time has been practicing law in Binghamton. In 1898 he was appointed referee in bankruptcy for the district in which Binghamton is situated. He is a non-resident lecturer on the subject of bankruptcy at the Cornell University Law School.[1]
