Rotten Robbie is a gas station chain in California. As of June 2026, it had 39 locations.[1]. It is owned by Robinson Oil[2], a fleet fueling and fuel management company based in Santa Clara, California[3]. Robinson Oil has also bought several commercial and industrial buildings in San Jose, California[4]. It's co-founder, Herb Richards, formed Coast Oil in San Jose before World War II, and advocated for self-service stations. The chain acquired its name from Richards' partner, Don Robinson, after Richards first considering naming the chain "Nasty Nell" for his wife[5]
