RipItRandy (born Randy Jimenez) is an American Twitch streamer and content creator. He is known for videos and livestreams featuring gameplay and challenges in the NBA 2K series, as well as more recent IRL stunts and viewer-interactive content.
Early life
Randy Jimenez was born and raised in Coral Springs, Florida.[1][2] In 2015, his family relocated to Marietta, Georgia, due to his father's job.[3][4] During this transition, he and his twin brother Josh spent time playing NBA 2K together, which helped them bond.[5][6]
Jimenez was inspired to create content after watching YouTubers such as CashNasty, Jesser, StaxMontana, and ThatKiddKuda.[7][8] His username "RipItRandy" comes from his mother's encouragement during his baseball games.[9] His mother passed away in 2018 after a battle with cancer, and he has cited making her proud as a key motivation.[10][11]
During high school, Jimenez faced bullying from peers who mocked his early videos, leading him to temporarily remove all content from his channel.[12]
Career
Jimenez uploaded his first YouTube video under the username RipItRandy on January 21, 2016, featuring NBA 2K gameplay recorded on a PlayStation 4.[13][14] His early content consisted of challenges and commentary in the NBA 2K series.[15][16]
His audience grew significantly in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as increased gaming interest boosted his followers on YouTube and TikTok.[17][18] By 2022, he had over 130,000 followers across platforms.[19] He has also worked professionally, editing content for the sports media company Overtime and creating short-form videos associated with the Miami Heat.[20]
In more recent years, his content has shifted toward IRL stunts, physical challenges, and comedic dares.[21] He streams on Twitch and maintains active channels on YouTube and TikTok.[22]
In 2025, Jimenez was selected as one of 120 participants in Streamer University, a multi-day content creation event hosted by streamer Kai Cenat at the University of Akron.[23][24]
Content style
Jimenez's style emphasizes positivity, authenticity, and community interaction.[25] His editing often includes creative and random elements for humor.[26] Later content features high-energy stunts and viewer-suggested challenges.[27]
Personal life
Jimenez attended Florida State University, where he studied economics while balancing content creation.[28][29] He has spoken about proving doubters wrong and honoring his family through his work.[30]
