Ratatoing is a 2007 Brazilian direct-to-video computer-animated film produced by Vídeo Brinquedo. The film follows a group of anthropomorphic rats named Marcell Toing, Carol, and Greg as they run a restaurant supplied by ingredients from a human restaurant.

Ratatoing was produced in four months under a tight budget to release around the same time frame as the Pixar film, Ratatouille.[1] The movie is often referred to as a mockbuster by critics.

Ratatoing was originally released on June 2007 in Brazil. An English dub produced by Audioworks Producers Group and distributed by Inspired Distribution under the Peter Pan name was released on June 26, 2007 in North America.[2][3]

Upon its release, Ratatoing was panned by critics and audiences alike for its unoriginal premise, outdated and sloppy animation, generic and monotonous story, and dull humor. It has since been ranked as one of the worst animated movies of all time.[4]

As one the competitor's staff (named "Brown Hair Rat" in the credits) realized they forgot the staff's notebook in the restaurant, they return to find it unlocked by accident. The competitors, who are in amazement upon learning the secret, realize that they will never be able to achieve the same ingredient quality and decides to sabotage Ratatoing by scaring the human restaurant's customers.
