The Psoriasis-Netz is an information and self-help portal for the conditions psoriasis (also called plaque psoriasis) and psoriatic arthritis, which has existed since 1997.[1][2] The community of the Psoriasis-Netz has over 33,000 registered members (as of January 2026). The Psoriasis-Netz is funded by donations and is free of advertising.[3]
Objective
The Internet offering of the German-speaking Psoriasis-Netz aims to help affected people better understand their disease and to cope better with the consequences of the illness. Reliable information about the disease and treatment options is intended to empower those affected and contribute to fact-based information for society.[4]
In the 'Community' section of the Psoriasis-Netz, users who are directly or indirectly affected by the disease as relatives can ask their questions and share experiences. At the same time, as a journalistic project, information about the diseases and tips for coping with them are provided in the sections 'Psoriasis', 'Psoriatic Arthritis' and 'Guide'.[5][6]
Organization
In 2003, the association www.Psoriasis-Netz.de was founded.[7] The contributions in the editorial section of Psoriasis-Netz are written by authors and science journalists. All articles can be read freely. In the "Expert Forum," doctors regularly answer questions about the diseases. Only registered users can chat live with those affected, post questions and experiences to the forum or to a blog. These can be read and commented on at any time by other affected individuals. Administrators and moderators ensure compliance with netiquette and chat rules. Users of Psoriasis-Netz organize regional and supra-regional meetings. Photos of users, their disease, and their meetings can be uploaded to a website. Twice a month, nearly 2,000 subscribers receive a newsletter.[8]
The Psoriasis-Netz is present on the social networks Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky and YouTube.[9]
Volunteer administrators of the Psoriasis-Netz are Rolf Blaga[10] and Claudia Liebram (responsible).[11]
The Psoriasis-Netz was continuously certified with the Medisuch certificate from 2010 to 2017.[12]
