Melanius Perry De Silva (born 22 October 1972) is a Sri Lankan-Australian businessman and the director and founder of Chandler Holdings.
Early life and education
De Silva was born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He attended St. Benedict's College, the oldest Roman Catholic school in Sri Lanka. The school was established in 1865 by Benedictine monks and has been run by the De La Salle Brothers since 1868.
In the 1990s, De Silva migrated to Melbourne, Australia, to continue his higher education. He attended Deakin University from 1997 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
Career
After completing his education, De Silva was associated with several companies based in Melbourne, including Spencer & Rutherford, Link National Transport, and Blue Illusion.
A major turning point in his career came with his association with Chandler Personnel, a labor hire service provider based in Melbourne that was founded by Richard Chandler in 1991. De Silva joined Chandler Personnel as a Finance Manager in 2006. He was elevated to the position of Director in 2011. In 2015, De Silva acquired 100% of the shares in the company, which became the foundation for Chandler Holdings.[1]
