Draft:P-50

[1]

The ACA Penetrator 50, commonly referred to as the P-50 or ASC-T135 is the 2nd loudest siren in the world and the 2nd largest siren in the world. It has a large fiberglass horn that houses a dual tone 8/12 port chopper, and it is powered by a Doerr Electric 50HP 3-phase motor. This can also be the only Civil Defense motor siren that, in some cases, plays a perfect B♭ Major chord. This siren is the last, and most powerful, siren in the Penetrator series.

History

The P-50 was introduced around the late 1980's as the 50 HP model of the Penetrator. In November 1992, ACA's parent company, Biersach & Niedermeyer Co., declared bankruptcy and sold ACA to a German company who would continue production on a number of ACA sirens. However, because the sirens were not produced under ACA any more, the model numbers were changed on many of them, including the P-50 which was renamed as the ASC T-135. Following the late 1992 selling and rebranding of ACA into ASC, the siren continued to be produced well into the 2000's. In early 2007, ASC announced that it will cease all production of the P-50/T-135 sirens. The last P-50 rolled off the assembly line late that year, bringing the manufacture of the P-50/T-135 to a close.
