One of the most recognizable voices on Botswana radio, radio personality, dancer and content creator Mr Tee is celebrating six years at Yarona FM.

The journey began in 2019 when Yarona FM launched its “20 for 20” presenter search on Lerato Modiega’s show, calling on aspiring broadcasters to submit audition voice notes. Out of more than 650 entries received, only 40 contestants advanced to the next stage before being trimmed down to 23. Eventually, seven finalists earned the opportunity to host shows on the station.

At the same time, veteran broadcaster Trevor Jones was preparing to step away from Inspirational Grooves, opening the door for a fresh new voice in gospel radio. On the first Sunday of February 2020, Mr. T officially received his contract for Beats From Heaven — a gospel and uplifting show that would soon carve its own identity on Botswana airwaves.

Unlike traditional Christian radio programming, Beats From Heaven blends humor, deep and uncompromising biblical discussions, current affairs, and human-interest stories into one vibrant listening experience. The music selection is equally diverse, featuring everything from traditional gospel and contemporary worship to Afropop gospel, Christian hip-hop, R&B, and even gospel-inspired amapiano sounds.
