Mitchell Jackson (c. 1991) is an American publicist and founder of BCC Communications.[1] Before working in communications, he was a staff writer and editor for Vice. His past and current public relations clients include Candace Owens, Brett Cooper, No Jumper, Adam Friedland, Adam Mockler, and Sarah Schulman, among others.[2]
Early Life
Jackson grew up in Hollywood, Florida, where he was born Mitchell Sunderland[1]. His parents owned a pet store called the Puppy Palace[2]. He attended American Heritage School and Sarah Lawrence College. He graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts, with a Concentration in Queer Literature and Journalism.[3]
Reporting Career
From 2012 to 2017, Jackson worked at Vice,[4][5] where he held various writing and editing positions. He built a reputation for his gonzo journalism, profiling controversial Americans such as Rachel Dolezal, Ann Coulter, the Insane Clown Posse, and Paris Hilton[1].
In addition to Vice, he wrote for Thought Catalog, Complex,[6] W magazine, and other outlets.
Public Relations Career
After he departed Vice in 2017, Jackson worked as a publicist for Judith Regan[1].
In 2020, he founded BCC Communications. The firm has since gone on to represent a diverse group of clients, including Abigail Shrier, Adam22, Adam Friedland, Adam Mockler, Brett Cooper, Candace Owens, CJ Pearson, Douglas Schoen, Sarah Schulman, and various crisis clients[2].
His PR firm has been profiled in Vanity Fair[1] and the New York Times.
Personal Life
Jackson is openly gay and married to a man. When he married in 2017, he took his husband's last name. He lives in Florida and has three dogs[1].
