Miluv (born in Dublin, Ireland), is an Irish musician living in London.. Growing up, her parents played music from a wide variety of genres such as rock, pop, blues, jazz, alternative, and indie folk, which made her grow a deep appreciation for the craft of songwriting. She began writing songs at age 6 and started piano and vocal lessons at the age of 8. She completed her Royal Irish Academy of Music Piano Forte grades by age 16 and is a classically trained pianist.

She has been playing guitar since age 15 and is completely self-taught. She said that learning songs from her favourite artists at the time such as Hozier, Twenty One Pilots, and Melanie Martinez, helped develop her writing and guitar skills. She began posting demos of original songs on Soundcloud during the Covid-19 pandemic, which have since been taken down. She briefly took a break from releasing music to complete her college studies in the National College of Ireland where she graduated in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

Music career

She began performing in front of people at a very young age and played her first festival indiependence in 2018 at age 15 under her birth name. She describes this as an eye-opening experience and called the feeling of performing on a stage "addictive".

She released her first official single "Would it be so bad?" in 2021 under the stage name 'miluv' (pronounced my-love), which has since been take down. She then released "Start Again"[1] later in 2021 under the name 'Míla' (pronounced mee-laa).

After a brief break, she returned to music in 2024 under the name 'miluv'. This time with a darker sound with her release of "Forbidden Fruit" (2024). In this song, she discusses her first encounters with exploring her sexuality and her attraction to women. She described this song on social media as a turning point in her writing journey and artistic exploration as well as her first proud expression of her sexuality in her music.

She released a raw demo for her song "Unclean" in 2025 and released her song "Hunting Season" later on that year, which earned her a spot on Spotify editorial playlists. She said that 'Hunting Season' was a further exploration of that dark sound she had been chasing along with exploring dark visuals[2] and the lyrical themes of fear and violence.
