Microboard Processing Inc. (MPI) is an American electronics manufacturing services provider based in Seymour, Connecticut. The company offers circuit card assembly, system integration, and test services.[1][2]

History

Microboard was founded in 1983 by Craig Hoekenga in Stratford, Connecticut.[3][4][5] The company originally started in Stratford, Connecticut, and moved to Seymour's Silvermine Industrial Park in 1995.[5]

In 2014, Microboard was recognized as the 1,000th business to receive assistance through the State of Connecticut's Small Business Express Program, a job creation initiative launched in 2012.[5] Governor Dannel Malloy and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith visited the company's 60,000-square-foot facility to mark the milestone.[5]

President and CEO Nicole Russo was named a 2015 Woman of Innovation by the Connecticut Technology Council.[4] In 2024, she was inducted into the American Manufacturing Hall of Fame as a Woman of Distinction.[6] With financial assistance from the program, Microboard made renovations including LED lighting installation, new ceilings, and spray foam insulation, as well as purchasing 5D X-ray equipment.[5]
