Comment: No secondary sources cited - everything is the company's website (except the one source about donation which only mentions the game in passing). Article reads like an advertisement. Juxlos (talk) 03:14, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Mech Arena is a third-person shooter with real-time PvP battles, as well as a PvE game mode, developed by Plarium. In the not-too-distant future, a devastating series of conflicts known as the Trade Wars has almost caused the end of civilization as we know it. Now, human grievances are no longer resolved through large-scale armed conflict. Instead, they must be played out in boardrooms and stock exchanges; through backroom deals and espionage; and via the world’s most popular sport: Mech Arena.
Players battle each other in various game modes, equipped with a variety of mechs, weapons and pilots. It was released on August 12, 2021 on mobile.[1], and rolled out on PC/Mac on August 3, 2022 [2].
Mech Arena is free-to-play and can be downloaded from various places including the App Store [3], Google Play [4],and Plarium Play [5].
Battle Modes
Control Point Clash
Two teams of five compete against one another. The aim is to capture and defend as many Control Points as possible in 5 minutes. Once a team has claimed a Control Point, their victory counter will start to increase. The more Control Points a team controls at any one time, the quicker the counter ticks up. The first team to reach 100 wins.
5v5 Deathmatch
In 5v5 Deathmatch mode, two full teams compete for kills over multiple rounds. The team that destroys more Mechs in 2 minutes wins the round, and the team that wins 2 rounds first wins the Battle. A team can also win a round by destroying every Mech on the enemy team.
If the 2 minute timer runs out and both teams have the same number of kills, they get 30 more seconds of Overtime. If both teams still have the same number of kills at the end of Overtime, the round will be a draw.
Hangar Showdown
Hangar Showdown is a 2v2 Battle Mode where two players fight a rival duo over multiple rounds. During each round players must use a different Mech. In Battle, everything used will perform at their Max Rank. The first pair to win three rounds will triumph.
Players have a separate Squad for Hangar Showdown Battles, which does not affect the set-up in their main Hangar. Before the Battle starts, players are able to see their ally’s chosen Mech, so they can synchronize strategies.
Onslaught
Onslaught is a solo PvE Mode where players take on waves of bots using specific Mechs. The goal is to clear multiple Levels, each with their own Weapon requirements. Players must battle through hordes of enemies if they want to earn their spot on the Leaderboard. There are several different Onslaught Campaigns, each featuring a different mech.
Achievements
Mech Arena was the App Store's "Game of the Day" on October 15, 2021 [6]. As of December 2024, it had over 80 million downloads [7]
Collaborations & Campaigns
In December 2021, to support the launch of Mech Arena, Plarium rolled out the ‘Mechs Are Here’ event. Santa Monica Pier was redecorated with a shredded billboard, a combat-scarred mech, and the scattered remnants of a spectacular fight. In-game the ‘Mechs Are Here’ campaign took the form of a challenge for players: could they destroy 1 billion mechs? After achieving their goal, Plarium and Mech Arena players made a combined donation of $100,000 to AbleGamers in February 2022 [8], a foundation that helps people with disabilities improve their quality of life and combat social isolation through play.
In October, 2022, Plarium collaborated with one of the world’s best footballers, Neymar Jr [9]. His mix of indelible style and swagger on the pitch were the inspirations behind the creation of his limited rarity Pilot character.
