MANZI Water is a South African water purification and refill business operating through independently owned outlets. The company has been referenced in national business reporting in connection with automated refill initiatives and litigation involving former Oasis Water franchisees.
Automated Refill Initiative
In 2025, MANZI Water was among the brands participating in South Africa’s first fully automated refill store, SKUBU, located at Chuma Mall in Diepsloot, Johannesburg.[1]
Reporting indicated that the initiative aimed to expand access to refillable household products and purified drinking water through automated dispensing technology.[2]
Additional industry coverage noted MANZI Water’s participation in the refill model as part of broader sustainability and access initiatives.[3]
Litigation
In July 2025, the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa delivered judgment in litigation between Oasis Water and three former franchisees who subsequently traded under the MANZI Water name.[4]
The court dismissed certain claims relating to franchisee assets and passing off, while upholding post-termination obligations relating to intellectual property and franchise materials.[5]
