Leeds Phoenix FC is currently a veteran's football club set up during the COVID pandemic in September 2020. They currently have two teams. The founder and club chairman is Elliott Stubbs.
The team carry the Moto, "just as the phoenix rose from the ashes they too will rise". The Moto is printed on the club's shirts.
History
During the COVID pandemic, its founder wanted to create an opportunity for older males to come together promoting exercise and positive mental health. Reaching out to friends, friends of friends and former playing team mates, the club was born and took the name, Leeds Phoenix. Leeds - being a club open to anyone in the city where they were formed and Phoenix to symbolise the birth of something new that rose from no foundations.
The club grew in popularity expanding to two teams in July 2024. The teams were named Leeds Phoenix Vets and Leeds Phoenix Knights.
As of the 2025/2026 season, the teams participate in the West Riding County FA's, Leeds Veteran's League. All teams in the league are only permitted to play players 35 years or older. Leeds Phoenix Vets currently play in Division 2 and Leeds Phoenix Knights currently play in Division 3.
In May 2026, Leeds Phoenix joined up with FC Farsley to create FC Farsley Phoenix Vets.
Team Colours
The club's founding colours were black and white stripes, black shorts and socks.
Since the 2024/2025 season, Leeds Phoenix Vets play in black and yellow stripe tops. Leeds Phoenix Knights play in blue and grey stripe tops.
