Comment: I do not believe the issues raised at the AFD have been fixed. I do not think that simple partnerships really add all that much to notability. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 15:08, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Kodiak AI (formerly Kodiak Robotics, Inc.) is an American technology company that develops autonomous driving systems for ground vehicles. Headquartered in Mountain View, California.[1][2]
History
Kodiak was founded in 2018 by Don Burnette, who previously co-founded the self-driving trucking startup Otto.[3] In 2019, the company established an operations hub in Lancaster, Texas, and began operating autonomous trucks with safety drivers on routes in the southern United States.[4]
In 2022, U.S. Xpress partnered with Kodiak. Kodiak has also partnered with Roush Industries to up-fit vehicles with the Kodiak Driver and has expanded collaborations.[5][6][7] It also commercially partnered with Atlas Energy Solutions,[7] whose fleet includes driverless trucks delivering sand in the Permian Basin in Texas.[6][8] It also achieved fully driverless operations in some settings. Long-haul deliveries with large carriers like C.R. England,[9] J.B. Hunt and Werner Enterprises continue to include safety drivers during broader rollout phases.[6] In 2022, they partnered with IKEA.[10]
In 2024, Kodiak became one of the first companies to deploy customer-owned autonomous trucks in commercial service.[11] By late 2025, its autonomous systems had logged millions of miles and thousands of paid driverless hours in freight operations, and orders had been placed for additional vehicles.[12]
In April 2025, Kodiak entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Ares Acquisition Corporation II, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC),[13][9][5] under which Kodiak would become a publicly traded entity.[14] Upon closing of the transaction in September 2025, the company was renamed Kodiak AI, Inc.,[15] and began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbols KDK and KDKRW.[16]
In early 2026, Kodiak announced a hardware partnership with Bosch[17] aimed at scaling components and sensor systems for commercial deployment of its autonomous platforms.[18][19]
