Jon Keppel (born September 10, 1979) is an American Life Artist, musician, librarian, author, speaker, and mental health advocate based in Akron, Ohio. He specializes in Life Art; the idea that one can live a creative, intentional, and meaningful life, much like an artist creates a piece of art.
Jon received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from The Ohio State University in 2007 as a part of a personalized study program where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Kent State University in 2023 with a focus on adult services in public libraries.
In 2014 Jon was awarded the Edgar J. Helms Outstanding Achiever Award, and in 2017 he gave a TEDx Akron talk to over 700 people which was titled The Art Spark. Jon says, “Art is the unleashing of a gift. It's a special understanding of what it means to be human and what it means to be alive. Art is the inner dispersal of energy in the form of thoughts.”
Jon is the founder and director of The Life Art Institute, an educational online space for learning about Life Art as well as the leader of The Life Art Movement, a mindfulness universal love that is expressed as awareness, kindness, and compassion as a part of everyday life. Jon creates his own abstract artwork and writes music.
In 2025, Jon wrote an essay titled Seven Years which refers to the past seven years he spent transforming and developing into a public librarian while learning to embody the principles of Life Art in a professional setting.
