Jim English (born 10 May 1991) is an English actor and writer who has appeared in British television, film, and theatre productions. He is represented by United Agents.[1]

Early life and education

English was born in Hull, England. He attended Holderness Academy before training as an actor at Rose Bruford College in London, graduating in 2013.[2]

Career

On television, English portrayed William Gardner in the BBC drama series New Blood (2018).[3]

In 2021, he appeared as Peter Ingham in the BBC children’s drama series My Mum Tracy Beaker.[4]

He also appeared in the BBC medical drama Holby City.[5]

In 2022, English appeared as Detective Constable Jez Vine in the ITV drama series The Tower.[6]

He later appeared in the Sky comedy-drama series Brassic (2023) and the Channel 5 drama Death in Benidorm (2025).[7]

In film, English appeared in the historical drama Peterloo (2018), directed by Mike Leigh.[8]

In theatre, English appeared in productions including Solid Air at Theatre Royal Plymouth and Northern Broadsides’ staging of Richard III at Hull Truck Theatre.[9]
