Jennifer Margaret Linda Haynes, also known as Dr Jeni Haynes and The Entity Currently Known As Jeni[1], is notable for her successful use of dissociative identity disorder as a basis for prosecution in court, regarding her father's sexual abuse against her. She has over 2,500 alternate personalities, created to help her survive her abuse..[2]. Her story was documented in the 2026 SBS documentary We Are Jeni[1], and the 2022 autobiography The Girl in the Green Dress[3].
Court case
Jeni's father, Richard Haynes, was convicted in 2019 of 25 charges of abuse and torture, and sentenced to 45 years in prison[4]
Personal life
Jennifer attended the University of Queensland and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, a Master's degree in legal and justice studies, and a PhD in victimology and criminology[1][5]
