The Iraqi Border Forces Command is one of the departments of the Ministry of Interior in Iraq. It is responsible for managing Iraqi borders in addition to administering border crossings and Iraqi ports. The force guards more than 14 land border crossings. As of November 2022, the strength of the Iraqi Border Forces Command reached 48,000 personnel, organized into 6 regions and 20 brigades.
Structure and operations

The Border Forces Command operates across all Iraqi border governorates. Its mission includes land border security, coastal surveillance, and coordination with other internal security forces.[1][2][3][4][5]
