Draft:Impavidus

Impavidus is an English death metal band from Manchester, formed in 2015.[1] [2] The group's current line-up comprises vocalist Michelle Adamson, lead guitarist Gav Smith, bassist Patrick McBride and drummer Luke Ellwood.

The band released their first EP in 2016, self-titled "Impavidus", and received positive reviews from Soundscape Magazine for their mix of clean and harsh vocals with an overall review score of 9 /10. "Black Mirror" was cited as a standout track.[3] The self-titled EP was recorded at Skyhammer Studios in January 2016 and was produced by Chris Fielding.[1]

Impavidus then returned to Skyhammer Studios in February 2017 to create a second EP "Eradication of Mankind", which was released on 29th March 2017.[1] This album received praise from Mass Movement for being both "hauntingly melodic" and "bone-crushingly heavy".[4] Metal Gods TV gave the EP a review score of 9/10, remarking that Impavidus are "one of the shining lights from within the thriving UK Heavy Metal Underground scene".[5] Eradication of Mankind featured the track, "Lies", which Wonderbox Metal quoted as being "catchy as hell". [6] A music video was released for "Lies" on 12th April 2017. It was filmed in the Manchester concert venue Rebellion and was produced by Forshaw Media.

Following their EPs, Impavidus have released two further singles "Artifice", which was written in April 2018 before being released on 16th September 2019; then "Justice", which was released on 13th December 2020. "Artifice" was the first single to feature drummer Luke Ellwood, previously in the band God Shaped Devil.[1]
