Hug Engineering AG is a Swiss engineering company that designs and manufactures exhaust aftertreatment systems for high-horsepower diesel and gas engines used in marine, rail and stationary power generation applications.[3] The company also provides service, spare parts, and digital monitoring solutions for installed systems.[3] Since 2024, Hug Engineering has been owned by the Belgian holding company OGEPAR Group, after FORVIA (Faurecia) agreed to sell and subsequently reported the disposal.[4][5]
History
Hug Engineering was founded in 1983 in Elsau, Switzerland.[3] In 2010, Wärtsilä, ABB Turbo Systems and Hug Engineering announced a joint development project to develop a compact SCR system tailored to operation with two-stage turbocharging.[6]
In 2011, ElringKlinger announced that it had acquired a majority interest in Hug Engineering.[7] In late 2017, Faurecia (later part of FORVIA) announced an agreement to acquire Hug Engineering, and the closing of the purchase was reported in early 2018.[8][9]
In April 2024, FORVIA announced an agreement to transfer Hug Engineering to OGEPAR Group, with closing expected by the end of June 2024; FORVIA later reported the disposal as completed in 2024.[4][10][11]
