Toyo Eatery is a restaurant in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. It serves contemporary Filipino cuisine and is located at The Alley at Karrivin Plaza on Chino Roces Avenue Extension. The restaurant was opened in 2016 and is led by chef Jordy Navarra and May Navarra.[1][2]

Toyo Eatery received one Michelin star in the inaugural 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide Philippines.[2] It has also appeared multiple times on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list and was named The Best Restaurant in the Philippines several times by the organization.[1]

History

Toyo Eatery opened in 2016 in Makati.[3] The restaurant is led by husband-and-wife team Jordy and May Navarra.[1]

The name "Toyo" comes from the Filipino word for soy sauce.[4]

Cuisine

Toyo Eatery serves contemporary Filipino cuisine using local ingredients.[2] Asia's 50 Best Restaurants describes the restaurant as prioritising Filipino produce and working with local farmers and artisans.[1] The restaurant has been associated with the use of fermentation, preservation, and local culinary references in its menus.[4]

Reception

In 2018, Toyo Eatery received the Miele One To Watch Award from Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. It entered the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2019.[1] The restaurant was later included in the list in multiple years, including No. 24 in 2024 and No. 42 in 2025.[5][6]

In 2023, Toyo Eatery received the Sustainable Restaurant Award from Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.[5] In 2025, it received the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award from Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.[7]

In the 2026 Michelin Guide Philippines, Toyo Eatery was awarded one Michelin star.[2] In the same year, it ranked No. 71 on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 51–100 list.[4]
