Draft:Haight Street Commons

Haight Street Commons, styled either HSC or HStC, is a network of not-for-profit co-ops and intentional communities located in San Francisco, California. Founded in April 2016, it serves as an umbrella organization connecting various cooperative houses and intentional communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

History

The organization formed on April 9, 2016, with its first gathering taking place at an intentional community called The Embassy in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco. While many of the member houses predated the formation of Haight St Commons, the network was established to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing between existing communities.[1]

In 2017, HSC was featured in Haight Street Voice.[2] The Red Victorian was part of this network.[3] In 2021, HSC was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s website[4] and was referenced[5] in The New Yorker.
