Ghost Market is an upcoming American animated comedy horror film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. The film will be directed by Trevor Jimenez and Jesse Andrews in their feature directorial debut.

Originally developed as a television series for Disney+, Ghost Market was reworked into a theatrical feature film when the project was reported in March 2026. The directors and release date were announced the following August.

Ghost Market is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 10, 2028, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Premise

A 12-year-old boy named Kyle has been forced to move from Chicago to Hawaii by his family. Upon arrival, he encounters ghosts in a spooky marketplace.

Production

In March 2026, reports circulated Pixar was working on a new original film titled Ono Ghost Market inspired by "Asian myths about supernatural bazaars where the living and dead interact". The project was originally developed as a streaming television series for Disney+ before being reworked into a theatrical feature film.[1] At the 2026 D23 Expo in August, Pixar officially announced the project, with Trevor Jimenez and Jesse Andrews reported as directors.[2]

Release

Ghost Market is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 10, 2028.[2]
