GetTransfer is an international online marketplace for booking private transfers. Its headquarters are located in Larnaca, Cyprus.

History

The company was founded by entrepreneurs Alexander Pershikov and Alexander Sapov in 2015.[7] Initially, the project was conceived to the process of searching for and booking transfers by consolidating offers from various transportation companies and private drivers on a single web platform.[8] In 2016, the application with the same name (GetTransfer.com) was launched.

From March 2018 to January 2019, the company conducted an investment round, attracting capital from major investors Emery Capital, Castel Capital,[9] and S7 Group.[10][11] As a result, its growth in 2018 compared to the previous year was tenfold.[12][13] Subsequently, in 2020, due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, S7 Group exited GetTransfer's shareholder structure, selling its stake to other shareholders.

In 2018, the company participated in the 4th Russian-British Business Forum (London, UK).[14] In 2019, it took part in the Web Summit IT conference (Lisbon, Portugal).[15][16] In 2022, the company announced a partnership agreement with Emirates NBD bank.[17] In January 2023, it began collaborating with Air Europa's SUMA loyalty program.[18] In April 2023, a strategic partnership was established with Binance Card, a leading provider of cryptocurrency payment cards.[19][20] In March 2025, it announced the start of cooperation with Azerbaijan's national airline AZAL.[21][22]

In January 2026, GetTransfer.com announced the completion of a management-led buyout intended to consolidate corporate governance and restore operational stability after internal board disputes.[23]

Service description

GetTransfer.com operates as the Information Society Service model (ISS), allowing users to compare prices and conditions from various transport providers and choose a suitable option from numerous available offers.[24] The platform functions solely as an information exchange intermediary between clients and transportation service providers; it does not control prices or influence their terms.

As of 2022, the service was available in over 180 countries[25][26][27] and covered more than 100,000 drivers.[28]

Criticism

In 2024, the company was noted on Trustpilot for publishing fake reviews about its activities.[29]

In May 2025, GetTransfer became involved in a scandal. The UK Foreign Office used the GetTransfer app to book a car to transport Foreign Secretary David Lammy and his wife from Forli in Italy to the Flaine ski resort in France.[30] At the end of the trip, a dispute arose between the taxi driver Nasim Mimun and Mr. Lammy, during which the driver disappeared with passengers’ belongings[30] and cash.[31] He was detained and charged with theft.[32][33][34]

Subsequently, British tabloid The Sun conducted its own investigation and suggested possible links between GetTransfer’s founders and Kremlin (and personally Vladimir Putin), accusing the UK Foreign Office of using services affiliated with Russia’s president. Alexander Pershikov, Alexander Sapov, and GetTransfer complained to the Independent Press Standards Organisation that The Sun breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) and Clause 12 (Discrimination) of the Editors’ Code of Practice. The complaint was not upheld.[35]

In November 2025, a French court acquitted driver of theft of luggage due to lack of evidence.[36]
