You can also browse Wikipedia:Featured articles and Wikipedia:Good articles to find examples of Wikipedia's best writing on topics similar to your proposed article. Improving your odds of a speedy review To improve your odds of a faster review, tag your draft with relevant WikiProject tags using the button below. This will let reviewers know a new draft has been submitted in their area of interest. For instance, if you wrote about a female astronomer, you would want to add the Biography, Astronomy, and Women scientists tags. Editor resources

Comment: When I look at her co-authors in Google Scholar they have wuite high citation numbers. Unfortunately hers are still quite low, not high enough to pass WP:NPROF. I see no evidence of major peer recognition awards. Please wait some more years. Ldm1954 (talk) 03:41, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Florence Colleoni born in 1983 is a glaciologist and paleoclimatologist at the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) in Trieste.[1] She studies the past evolution of the Earth climate system at different timescales, in particular, the evolution of polar ice sheets using coupled atmosphere-ocean and ice-sheet numerical models. She teaches Paleoclimate dynamics and ice sheet dynamics since 2009 at Venice University.[2][3]
She is the co-chief officer of the Scientific Committee of Antarctic Research[4] programme INSTANT - "Instabilities and Thresholds in Antarctica" since 2021.[5]
Education
Florence Colleoni started her study in Earth sciences at University of La Rochelle in 2001.[6] She got a Master of Earth Sciences - major in Solid Earth at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris[7] and Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 2006. She obtained her joint Ph.D. in 2009 from both the University of Grenoble I[8] in France (at the former LGGE - Laboratoire de glaciologie et géophysique de l'environnement, now Institut des Géosciences de l'Environnement[9]) and Stockholm University in Sweden (Department of Marine Geosciences)[10] with the thesis "On the Late Saalian glaciation: A climate modeling study".
Career
After her Ph.D. she moved to Italy at the Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Changes[11] in Bologna where she stayed until 2018. During this period her research mainly focused on understanding the large-scale interactions between atmosphere, ocean and the past Northern Hemisphere ice sheets.[12][13][14] In 2017, she joined the XXXVII Italian Antarctic expedition in the Ross Sea,[15] on board of the R/V OGS Explora[16] from the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics. This campaign was a turning point and she started to focus her research on Antarctica since then.[17] In 2018 she moved to the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics in Trieste where she became senior research in 2019. She participated to a second Antarctic campaign, on board of R/V Laura Bassi, the Italian ice breaker, in 2022 to the Wilkes Land (East Antarctica).
Since 2018 she is active in the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and in 2021 she became co-chief officer of one of the SCAR Research Programme in 2021, INSTANT - "Instabilities and Thresholds in Antarctica", together with the paleoclimate research Tim Naish from University of Victoria of Wellington (New Zealand). The aim of the this programme was to bridge paleoclimate science with future projections to improve the knowledge and the understanding of the processes contributing to Antarctic's melting and contribution to sea level rise. Her role within SCAR allowed her to transfer science to policy makers and practitioners by attending UNFCCC meetings like COP,[18] Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meetings and other policy meetings. Her climate activism through TV,[19] radio,[20] newspapers,[21] public conferences,[22][23] spans climate changes consequences on sea level rise, polar areas, and more recently about the uncontrolled used of geo-engineering methods to slow down the effect of climate changes at the poles.[24]
