Extole, Inc. is an American software company based in San Francisco, California, that develops referral marketing software for businesses. Founded in 2009, the company provides a software-as-a-service platform that enables brands to create and manage customer referral programs.[1]
History
Extole was founded in 2009.[1] In April 2013, the company appointed Matt Roche as chief executive officer.[2] According to Roche, when he joined the company in 2013, more than half of the staff were laid off as part of a restructuring.[3]
Later in 2013, Extole raised $5 million in funding from Norwest Venture Partners, Shasta Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, and Trident Capital.[1] The company subsequently raised $14 million in Series C funding led by Norwest Venture Partners and Shasta Ventures, bringing total funding to over $30 million.[4]
Products
Extole's primary product is a cloud-based platform for creating and managing customer referral programs. The software allows businesses to track referrals, automate reward distribution, and measure program performance.[1]
Extole has developed integrations with e-commerce and digital banking platforms to embed referral programs into existing customer experiences.[5][6]
