Ecocoast is a Dubai-based marine and coastal management company founded in 2009 by Lachlan Jackson.[1] and Dana Liparts[2]. The company produces systems for sediment control, debris management, oil containment and mooring for coastal and marine environments[3].

History

Ecocoast started operations in the UAE in 2009, manufacturing silt curtains and debris booms used to control sediment and turbidity during coastal construction projects[4]. Manufacturing operations were later established in Europe and Asia[5].

In 2017, Ecocoast supplied a geotextile barrier for The Ocean Cleanup System 001 prototype[6][7].

In 2018, the WasteShark project deployed autonomous drones in Dubai Marina to collect floating debris[8][9].

In 2020, Ecocoast acquired UK-based Bolina Ltd, a manufacturer of marine barriers[10], and in 2025 opened a manufacturing facility in Yanbu Industrial City, Saudi Arabia[11].

Other reported projects include installations in Belgium[12], Abu Dhabi[13] and Scotland[14].

Awards

In 2018, Ecocoast was named a winner of the Gulf Capital SME Awards in the UAE[15]. In 2025, it received a Gold Award at the Global ESG Awards[16]
