DiCE (born Wolfren Rosaroso) is a Filipino rapper, producer, songwriter, and music video director from Cebu, Philippines. He first gained recognition as part of the duo DiCE and K9 before founding the hip hop group Mobbstarr in 2005.
Early career
DiCE began his career in the early 1990s as a member of the Cebu-based hip hop collective The Anthill Mobb, alongside Pain and Spoon, with K9 later joining the group (with Spoons' departure). The collective contributed to the development of Cebu’s underground hip hop movement.
The Anthill Mobb released the project All Art is a Game with and A Fight against Chaos, reflecting the region’s emerging independent rap scene.
6000 GOONZ
DiCE and his cousin Pain later established '6000 Goonz, a Cebu-based hip hop collective named after Cebu City's postal code, 6000. Artists associated with the movement included The Anthill Mobb, Dogg Fellaz, Hi-C, Menace, Trapp, De Loop, and Naw-T-Dogg.
When Pain shifted focus toward his education, DiCE continued leading the collective and expanding its activities within Cebu’s music community.
DiCE and K9
DiCE later formed the duo DiCE and K9, which became his mainstream project. The act gained recognition in the Philippine urban music scene, particularly for the track Itsumo.
In September 2024, *The Philippine Star* described DiCE and K9 as enduring figures in Cebu’s rap scene, noting the continued cultural presence of Itsumo in their career.[1]
Mobbstarr
In 2005, following K9’s departure from active promotions, DiCE established Mobbstarr as a formal group project.
Mobbstarr received international recognition, including being reported as co-winner of the Best Hip-Hop Group award at the Asia Pacific Voize Independent Music Awards (AVIMA) in 2009.[2]
The group went on to receive the AVIMA Best Hip-Hop Group award for three consecutive years (2009–2011).[3]
In 2010, Mobbstarr received the Ani ng Dangal award from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.[4]
Solo career
DiCE released the solo EP Echoheart, which was covered by independent music outlet VIMA.global.[5]
In addition to performing, DiCE has worked as a music producer and has contributed to projects across all music genres not just in the Philippines but also other parts of the world.
Directing and visual production
Beyond recording and production, DiCE has directed and edited music videos associated with his projects and collaborators, expanding his work into visual media.
Fashion and entrepreneurship
DiCE was involved in the development of the streetwear brand 6G Swagger, associated with the Cebu hip hop movement and the 6000 GOONZ collective.
