Daniel Valentin Marx (*12.08.1990 in Landshut;) is a German guitarist, researcher and lecturer.

From early on, he studied with Susanne Schoeppe in Munich and later, aged 19, with Roberto Aussel at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where he finished Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction.
After winning a Thornton Scholarship, he continued his path at the University of Southern California - Thornton School of Music, working with members of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, particularly Scott Tennant, and Pepe Romero. In 2019, he received the Doctoral College Studentship Award of the University of Surrey, which allowed him to start a PhD at the International Guitar Research Centre (IGRC) of the University of Surrey (UK), supervised by Stephen Goss, which he successfully concluded in 2025.[1]
